London, UK, UFC 85, June 2008

Note: This post was actually posted on the 21st of June 2008, but I recently realised I posted 2 photos that day! that’s against the rules! ;)

What surprised me the most during those fights was how this feeling of “voyeur” I had when taking photos of those people hurting each other. I managed to keep my good camera with me, with some nice persuasion with the entrance security guards ;o)This feeling was even more accentuated when you could see those guys with those bigs camera lenses shooting away like birds of pray on their dying victims! ok, I am getting a bit carried away here! :)

Still, I think this has all the ingredients for a strong photograph, at least in my eyes!

I also have another shot like this where you can see the 2 fighters on the ground, somehow, I believe not being able to see what they are seeing makes the message stronger.

Dark energy

November 2008, Bangalore, India

Driving back from work to the hotel by car is always source to a lot of interesting things in India/Bangalore. I already published a shot of a similar sunset few weeks ago. But I also liked that shot as I played with the lines of the Electric lines to create some dynamism in that photo.

sissi glass

December 2008, Vienna, Austria

Visiting the museum of the imperatrice Sissi was very interesting… and made you realise how rich those monarchs are/were. I especially liked that room with those old cups.

Rising high in the dark

December 2009, Vienna, Austria

As the sunset happened the light was so intense and the contrast with the sky and trees very interesting. I liked how dark those trees appeared to be against the bright walls of the building behind.

Winter Reflexion

December 2009, Weybridge, UK

This photo was taken in a small village near London called Weybridge. While walking along the canal I saw this reflection under an old bridge, the rusty aspect of it combined with the sun going down helped make those colours that way.

November 2006, London, UK

A friend of mine knew this circuit very well and knew were the best spot for taking photos was. It was at the bottom of a small hill giving you a nice viewing angle when the cars were taking that curves (and did not crash in the corner!!)

November 2006, Brand Hatch, London

I went to that race circuit to watch some britcar racing. Apaprt from the noise and amazing cars I liked that long corridor which gets you underground from one side of the circuit to another. There were many lines to play with here! ;)

September 2006, Calais, France

I always thought of Calais as a boring place in the North of France… a place you need to go through coming from England. As I was so early to take theferry to go back to England I decided to visit the coast near Calais… and to my surprise the area around Calaisis truely beautiful!!! I will definetely go back as I was quite wrong about the place!

August 2006, Vezelay, France

A similar photo than the one I blogged about 2 days ago, but this time in colour and from an old cathedral. As you may know already I love playing with focus/out of focus settings… that glass window did that for me! :o)
