Paxos, Greece, August 2004
While on holiday in Greece I found a sunset bar located at the top of a cliff. This was an amazing place where you could see the sun going down over the sea. As with most sunset bar they were playing chilled out music from loud speakers… excellent to set the mood 
They were also doing amazing cocktails, these are 2 of them!

Staying with the theme of depth of Field and narrow focus… I took this to the extreme on that photo 
The only focused part of that photo is a tiny point on that metallic rod. Although most of the photo is blurry you can still make it is a beach with a boat in the background. I took the shot that way to convey a sense of perspective and somewhat… a sense of movement. I tried to give some fake 3D effect by combining a blurry/sharp contrast on the that rod which goes right to the center of the photo… maybe that’s “my” idea of 3d

Still playing with Depth of Field (DoP), I wished I had a better lens for that picture. The idea was for the forefront and the background of the photo to be blurred. While the focus was on the letters/numbers written on the 2 container. I also wanted to aligned those numbers with the numbers written on the boat. So the final shot should have a line of numbers going across the photo with the middle numbers being slightly blurry, except that with the lens I used and the fact the numbers on the boat are very bold/big it does not appear that blurry when you look at the photo in such a small format!

Walking the coast of Dungeness in the South East of England is a joy to the eyes… a Photographer’s eye maybe! There are so much old “junk” which has been left on the shore for years. In this photo I was attracted by the space used by the fish rod in the frame as well as playing with the depth of field. I now need to change my lenses so I get an even better depth of field

On a road trip in France I stopped in a beautiful place with a nice forest around the property. This place was about 200 years old and the trees tall and dense. If you want the address to a very uncommon bed and Breakfast then let me know

Kara, Turkey, July 2005
I have been to Turkey a couple of times and really like the place, it has a beautiful coast line. This time though I was staying in a ghost village called Kara. It was a greek village which was deserted about 60 years ago. Thinking the greek would come back it was left inhabited all that time and the whole village is now only made of ruins… only a few houses have been renovated and it therefore brings a very weird atmosphere… the villa was fantastic with an outdoor plunge pool and all around you were… ruins, vegetation, forests… nothing else… ah yes…. insects!!! and lot of them!!
It was one of the calmest place I have been too and offered some beautiful sunset, like this one!

Lisbon, Portugal, February 2008
I went a week in Portugal for a work conference, I must admit I never been attracted to Portugal and never been there before. I don’t know why, but it was like that!
And I have to say I have changed my mind completely! I loved lisbon! this is such a beautiful city! I managed to walk into the old town for one of the day and one thing which really surprised me was to see pebbles road everywhere… they also seem to put a product on it because there are all so shiny!!
This street attracted my attention because of the obvious geometry pattern on the pavement and the sense of perspective you could get with this angle

Barbados, December 2007
While in Barbados I met a couple at a beach bar one evening and we got alone very well. They have been going to Barbados for december for something like 20 years! so they know the place very well and they told me about a very very old giant cave that collapsed probably hundred years ago and now there are some vegetation and wild life living there which you cannot find anywhere else on the island. That cave is also not very well advertised and difficult to find… in fact… although the island is fairly small, EVERYTHING is hard to find! road signs are very sparse
So one day they took me there and it was fantastic… one thing I have noticed is that there were loads of those small worms (not sure the name of them). Most of them curled up like this.
This photo caught my eyes because I loved the difference in texture you can see.

I went to their Zoo and I can only say one thing, I recommend it! they have a lot of wild life animals (10000 turtles roaming around) and also a few crocodiles. You can get very close to them as well! this one seems to want to “pose” for the photo, so I had to take a shot
