This is the second photos of the millenium wheel I took that day. Somehow I prefer this photo than the one publish yesterday… would you agree?
It gives a false sense of symmetry, the colors although very dark blend well with the inside of the wheel, I only know the french word for it… rayon… so it could translate to ray but I doubt it… lets call it a rayoned
Optical Wheel September 29, 2008

The London eye… It was very difficult to choose which photos to highlight. I have 2 similar photos, but at the same time different… so I am posting this one first, and the other one tomorrow. Let me know which one you prefer! I believe I prefer the one I will blog about tomorrow
I did not want to capture the whole of the wheel in purpose, there is a sense of blurrness as well with this photo (esecially at the center) but you probably need to see it full screen.
What I like about this photo is that it can creates some kind of optical illusion if you tell yourself the back of the wheel is in fact at the front… no? can’t see what I am saying?

While walking the street by London Embankment I saw 2 helicopters which were coming toward me… one of them seem to have someone hanging out and waving… waving at me!! I took several shot but did not have my biggest lense on…. later on I heard those helicopter coming back, this time I had my lense on… but was under a tree… I actually decided to take a more “artistic” shot and while focusing on the helicopter I wanted the tree leaves to almost be black and definetely out of focus… this resulted in this… somewhat washed out background with some splash of black spot in the front…

A sunday in Lisbon is very quiet, strange thing for a capital city… this was fairly early in the morning as well so the steet was even more deserted. I wanted to play with the lines pointing to the left corner of the photo and capture the different patch of light as well.
Loving Monkey September 26, 2008

I have already published a photo of one of the small monkey I saw while at that “cow temple”, however, there is something about this photo which I believe is more special even if at first it may not have the same “cute appeal”.
First, the texture of the monley fur contrasts with the texture of the background.
Then, and more importantly, it is the way this female monkey was attending to her baby. You could almost see feeling of love of some kind… and you can see that in that photo in her eyes and smile.

You’ve got to like the name of that shop
It was a very hot summer day and I was melting carrying around all my photographic accessories! Oh.. and the hangover was not helping either!
Restaurant Cinema September 24, 2008

This building had a lot of charisma, its color were a bit blunt so I decided to shot this photo in black and white. Looks like it was once a cinema, then a restaurant, and now… well… not sure

This is a photo of the old part of Lisbon, all the houses seem to attached to each other and I just liked all the lines/geometry those roof shows when looked from above

I wanted the blurred background to match exactly what was in focus in the compact camera. In fact I would like to play with this idea a bit further another time… endless loop
Busy Bee September 21, 2008

As explained yesterday I was in my garden… and I noticed a bee next to my fence busy collecting pollen… you could see all the pollen on its legs and I wished I had my camera… then I thought… well, it is gonna come back! so I ran upstairs, got my camera and waited… the bee/bees did come back and I took several photos. The difficulty here was that I was using my long lense so everytime the bee was moving fast I was loosing it in the frame… then I could not really use autofocus because it was so small and moving all the time the focus did not work…
