Bubble Ghost

5 Nov 2011

October 2011 – UK, London

This was taken in London South Bank near Embankment. Those giant bubbles all had different shape and this one reminded me of a ghost… I framed it with the buildings and trees to give a sense of skale.

Every roads go to nowhere

September 2011 – UK, Haslemere

This was an observation point, I straigth away noticed all those lines and wanted to create an effect with the depth of field. I just wanted to focus on one location and for the lines to be blurred giving a sense of movement in those lines…

Pepper Light

September 2011 – UK, London

A very nice pepper for a very nice English breakfast. This was still very early in the day and as I was eating outside the waitress offered to switch on the patio heater… I liked its reflection…

Black Dragon

Black Dragon

September 2011 – UK, London

This was taken from the top of a London tourist bus tour, Although the photo was originally taken in colour because of the contrast it was almost black and white anyway. I liked how to dragon, which marks the entrance to the London City, had such a sharp contrast with the cloudless sky, which is echoed by the chemineys around it… the plane trail also helps focusing the attention to the dragon, there is another line on the other side heading towards the dragon through the chemineys.

Crop circle

May 2011 – UK, Dungeness

At the end of Derek Jarman garden in Dungeness you have what looks like is reminiscent of a Japanese Garden. In fact on that pebble beach it is quite difficult to see and I could have easily walked on it. As it is very fragile it also shows someone is maintaining that garden…

Water Dragon

August 2011 – UK, London

This is another figure out of a fountain water jet which was moving up and down. This is something I will definitely try again but I doubt I’ll get that many figures!

Mosaic View

July 2011 – UK, Brighton

One of the pub on the Brighton Beach has two giant reflective balls like this. I liekd how it pixelised everything when you looked at it. You don’t usually see those disco balls in day light!

Curved Straight Line

Curved straigth ine

July 2011 – UK, Brighton

This is the center of the sculpture next to the brighton pier. The problem is that with so many tourists it is hard to get a clear shot!
Although the sculpture is interesting I couldn’t get any shots I really liked… So I started to play with the different lines and tried to aligned the curved lines on the sculpture with the straigth line of the outter wall. I then processed this photo to give it a vintage and old instant camera look.

Fish in the Fountain

Fish in the Fountain

August 2011 – UK, London

The funny thing is that I was not actually trying to take photos of water figures… I just changed lense to my standard zoom lense and wanted a close up on the top of the water jet as I wanted to play with the light reflection. I swear those jets were still for long period of times… as soon as I started taking photos they started going up and down! and I missed quite a few shots trying to follow their rythme! in the end it worked! :)

What is out there

May 2011 – UK, Dover

I do like windows :)
and play with blurring what is outside. As I was visiting the Dover Castle on a very windy and cloudy day a ray of light went through the window and I saw colors outside.

How did it get there?

How did it get there

May 2011 – UK, Dungeness

As I walked on the beach of Dungeness I saw that feather, stuck in the pebbles… it looked strange and I wondered how it got there… could it have arrived there naturally? or could it be that another photograph (and there are plenty coming to this beach!) put it there to compose a shot. I don’t like to compose shots, I like to photograph things as they are, so I find it funny if this was placed by someone else… some kind of recycled photo scene… and not against my principles as I did not place that feather there myself, nor ask someone to do it. From a technical point it was actually quite tricky, I wanted to get the feather in focus and the green vegetation blurred as they were being battered by the wind. I could not see what I was focusing on and it took me a good 10 or 15 shots to get that one. What is even better is that I didn’t even have to crop anything! :)
