Meadow in Black
UK, Surrey – November 2011
That river really had a ghost feel with all the fog, everything was softer but also much less defined!

November 2011 – Mauritius
One day, I will have to sail on a boat like this with a sunset like that! that’s what I say everytime I take such photo! :)
November 2011 – Mauritius
This is where a river meets the ocean. It was the end of day and the water was very calm, there was a little boy next to me who kept asking me if he could take a photo himself… so I can’t remember if this shot, the best of the bunch, was in fact his or mine ;)
May 2011 – UK, Dungeness
I took a photo of those boats probably 5 or 6 years ago, and they are still there looking great!
The fact they are so old and their paints fading away help softening the photo and blend those boats to the surrounding landscape.
May 2011 – France, Calais
This shot was taken just before the ferry left for the UK. It had just been raining and the colour were all so intense.
April 2011 – France, St Tropez
Appart from the light that I really liked when I took that photo, I was also attracted by that sense of a line of defense being made by those modern boats, as if they were ready to storm at you if you wanted to attack the old town… maybe I have too much imagination :)
In fact, they look like guardians, and you could take that symbols in two different ways… Those boats and their owners are what make St Tropez what it is, but also prevents anyone who is not rich to own those buildings…
April 2011 – France, St Tropez
This was taken from a boat which was out of the water and had its engine took off, this left a hole at the back of it, although I couldn’t see anything inside I experimented with my camera and while playing with the shutter speed I eventually managed to take that shot. I like this shot as it is a view of something you hardly ever see and you are probably not meant to see :)
April 2011 – France, St Tropez
This old Aston Martin actually looked more like an American Muscle car than a distinguished Aston. I liked how a classic car was put in front of a classic background which matched its message of luxury… what better place than St Tropez to take an Aston Martin photo :).
The very expensive and new boats in the middleground just emphasize that feeling of luxary.
By the way, none of the owners of those boats had that car, they all had new Bentleys :)
April 2011 – France, St Tropez
I had to walk around St Tropez’s Port to find a spot where the size of the boats were not the size of a house! It had been a while since I went to St Tropez and that’s the one thing that has really changed, the boats are HUGE!
November 2010 – Seychelles
It was very early in the morning, the sea was just flat and immense, that little fishing boat seemed to appear from nowhere.
November 2010 – Seychelles
The sea was so calm and the sky was amazing with a mix of clear sky and clouds. The big boat I was on was catching up that smaller one fairly quickly, my ideal photo would have been to have the sun slightly lower so it was about to go under those small clouds, but I would have missed the alignement with the sun reflection in the sea. I chose not to get the boat right in the middle of the reflection to give it a sense of movement, the sailing boat is going towards the sun.
November 2010 – San Francisco, USA
This shot was taken from the Golden Gate Bridge, that fishing boat was going in the direction of Alcatraz. i liked the openess of the sea and small curved line the boat had made. highlighting even more all the way he had to go, wherever that was!
