Speed it Up

July 2007 – Whistler, Vancouver, Canada

If you are in Vancouver during the summer, then I would recommend you take the scenic train to Whistler… it is an amazing journey! especially since you can put your head out of the windows in some of the viewing cabins! :o)

Dark Sunset

Vancouver Island is a beautiful island, and the north of that ireland is even better!

This was the end of an amazing sunset… somehow I prefer it that way, it is quite dark indeed!

Oyster anyone?

Oyster Anyone?

July 2007 – Hornby Island, Canada

At the bottom of that ruined Pier there are thousands of oysters, huge ones… they are so many and so close together that it is actualyl quite difficult to walk on there! but I had to because I really wanted to be in the middle of those oyster to get a shot of a “sea of oyster”. Not for that shot really as this is quite a close up shot… but for other ones.. which I didn’t like as much as this one really :)

So maybe I didn’t need to walk all the way in the middle of that field of very sharp and cutting oyster, risking to fall and hurt myself (ok maybe it wasn’t that dangerous after all!)… but hey… this is a close up shot taken in the middle of them! all around me, this shot was all I could see!!

Bridge to Nowhere

July 2007 – Hornby Island, Vancouver, Canada

Hornby Island is a small Island off Vancouver Island which is itslef off Vancouver… You are following me? ;)

This Island is some kind of Hippy Island where everyone is nice and happy! This is where you arrive with the ferry which takes less than 5 minutes to cross over the river/sea. There are the reamins of an old pier which has long disapeared!

Dark Sunset

July 2007 – Vancouver Island, Canada

To follow up on yesterday’s photo, this was the sunset I could see from the Ferry to Vancouver Island. The color were amazing and I used a rather fast shutter speed to make those colors even more dramatic…

On my Way to the Island

To go from Vancouver to Vancouver Island you need to take a 1h ferry. It was th end of the day and most smaller ships were coming back to port.

Blending the Sky

July 2007 – Whistler, Canada

On my way to the Whistler mountain I took a train, and I took several shot hanging my head outside :)

what I liked about that shot was how the sky and the top of the train seemed to be blending in one another… yes, the focus is only done on that rivet/screw on the right part of the screen… this is what also helps the blending to work so well!

July 2007, Ucluelet, Canada

This photo was taken on Vancouver Island next to a small town in the North. The beach in Vancouver Island are beautiful and it is somewhat odd to be on a beach and see pine trees all around you. There are lot of wood logs everywhere and I especially like that one in the middle :)

Lonely Turtle

June 2006 – Vancouver – Canada

Vancouver is a very nice town and has a beautiful sea side with lot of wild life/plants. While walking in what I think was some kind of park I saw this lonely turtle sunbathing on a rock.

I want to Believe

July 2007, Long Beach, Vancouver Island, Canada

On my way to Long Beach I had to walk through a small forest… I liked to play with the light and get some kind of divine atmosphere to the photo… unless you are an X-file fan and this light has a total differnet meaning for you ;)
