A light in the Dark
April 2011 – UK, London
The night was falling and this light came up, it looked like it was a candle burning inside.

July 2009 – Chamonix, France
This is at the top of the “aiguilles du Midi”, and that’s very high. So high in fact that the last few steps on the staircase (after a long lift of course) takes your breath away!
I just liked how the sun was relfecting on the metal and the symbol of the structure, being the tallest you can go in Europe appart from climbing or being on a plane!
November 2010 – San Francisco, USA
What I like about long haul flights is the amazing landscape you can see from time to time… I waited the plane went near the north pole, stopped my inflight movie, open the curtain and here is what I saw :)
Perfect time to get a glimpse of the sunset which the plane followed the whole flight and a lot of snow to make it even better!
November 2010, Seychelles
Sailing back from La digue to Victoria as the sun was going down this stretch of cloud was just showing us the way home. IT was amazing it happened to be right over the boat all the journey back.
July 2008 – Lac Leman, Swisstzerland
This old window was an ideal frame for that picture… It is off centered in purpose and I had to balance the exposure right between getting well defined clouds and not make the lake too dark so you don’t see the ripples…
July 2009 – Lac Leman, Swisstzerland
This photo was taken at the entrance of the Chillon Castle, on the Lac Leman. I had to wait for an annoying child/teenager girl to get out of that pier to take that photo! it was taken at the end of the tour of the castle and already that girl kept staying behind her parents (who kept screaming at her to … move!) and she had made an habit to stay in places where people were likely to take photos… I guess she wanted to be famous :)
The sky was very stormy, and as I waited to take my shot a bird then came at the end of the pier to thank me for my patience ;)
July 2009 – Chamonix, France
I always like to play with lines in my photos… that dark mountain/forest divides the photos in 2 parts and actually follows the line of the glacier. It is almost a black and white photos with a bit of blue in the sky…
July 2009 – Chamonix, France
I found that cloud separating the top of that mountain interesting, 2 worlds appart!
December 2007, Barbados
Barbados has some amazing sunset, Although I like some cloud free sunset from time to time, I prefer when there are a few clouds as it make it more interesting!
May 2009 – New Forest, UK
I actually didnt notice the sky at that moment… I was busy trying to take some close up photos of some vegetation of some sort and while making a mistake with my speed shutter and getting an almost all black photos I saw a tiny part of the sky which looked quite impressive…
the funny thing was that although it was cloudy it was very bright and if you were to look at the sky you could not see the details of the cloud… I guess sometimes mistakes turn out quite well! :o)
June 2008 – London, UK
As my plane took off India I took this photo from my window. It is maybe a bit ironic that the last photo I blog about india is the first I took :)
I noticed those scratches on the window (in fact this more frost than anything else) and I played with the depth of field to make it not as obvious to understand what this is photo is of.
June 2008 – Bangalore, India
If you get a chance to fly a long distance flight, try not to sleep all the way and take a window seat… you may be surprised by what you see :)
