I found that tree amazing, especially its roots. I liked the way they seemed to make one with the rocks around. That tree must have been very old indeed! :)

As I stopped my car to take a photo I noticed that sign next to me… I found that quite hilarious! first time I ever se that (and probably the only times I will ever see that!!!). The roof in the background is actually the toilet… better be quick!!! ;o)
A peaceful bench

This was taken in the Hawkshead village where there is a very old and nice looking church. I liked that bench, just by the side door of the church and over looking a small hill. From that bench all you could see was a tree with very big pink flowers at the bottom, a field and some very old tomb on the far left…

Those new branches made the whole tree looked like it was lighten up with light green bulbs :)

Those 3 “statues” where just outside my hotel room I liked them so much I wanted a photo. I first put them on the staircase barrier you can see behind, however setting them that way meant I could not see their “feet”… in the end I decided to let them where they were originally and use the barrier to frame them within the photo…

This lake was just west of Hawkshead, it is quite a small lake so it is easy to walk around within an hour, when I took that shot I was half way through and could start to feel the rain starting… time to go!!! :)

I already experiemented with dividing the photo in 2 different colors with diagonals in the past (see blog entry for the penguin in the London Zoo). I was tempted to zoom right in so you don’t get the blue sky behind the green tree… but I also wanted to show a wider view… so that was the compromise I had to make!

I stopped the car to take photos of some lambs in a field, on my way back to the car I saw this stone pined down on a tree… I have no idea who Jon is… but I liked the simplicity of it, it was on a tree in a field, next to a road, there was no special “view” there and if you just drive by you would never notice it… still, it caught my attention! so rest in peace Jon…

Those 2 lambs seems to do everything in sync… but I especially liked when they both started to turn their head to their back at the same time… I was standing quite close to them so it wasn’t too long before they took off!

The main reason I took that photo was for the tree obviously, but then I noticed those lambs and what happened next is typipcal… they were there for about 5 minutes, when I finally decided to change my lens to get the bigger zoom, the time I changed it… they were gone on the other side!!
