February 2012 – UK, Surrey
I liked that half wing which had been sectioned, but not matter how I was taking it, the shots were a bit dulll or you could not really get the sense it was something that had been cut. In the end I decided to take half of everything, half of the wing, half of the wheel, half of the round but at the top and it wors for me :)

August 2011 – UK, Weybridge
I visited the Brookland Museum in Weybidge a couple of times and noticed they sometimes move the concorde… in this position and walking under it I saw a good summary of what brookland was about… cars and plane. On top of that there is that memorial wall which gives the legend to this photo :)

That plane was apparently recovered from the bottom of the Loch Ness, I thought it was going well against the rusty and old ceiling. Again, there are lot of lines to play with on that photo!

This is the back of a Concorde Plane which is in the Brookland Museum. Although stationary the fact its back wheel is coming out it almost could be a photo of a flying plane. That’s the power of sugestion :)

February 2011 – UK, Surrey, Weybridge
This was an old plane from the Sultan of Oman, I think it was a VC-10, you could visit the plane and see how luxurious a few people got to fly! It was possible to visit the cockpit and even sit in the pilot seat. There was a lot of people around and it was not possible to stay long, as I was leaving I realised I forgot to take a shot of the dashboard from up close… but taking what shot! none of the dials were especially impressive or nice… then I noticed that gap! :)

As I was walking away from that plane the corner of my eye saw that refelction. I waited for everyone to leave and stop walking on the water puddle. I couldn’t find the right angle anymore though but thankfully my friend saw me taking photos of the ground and said “the angle you want is here”, thanks :)

February 2011 – UK, Surrey, Weybridge
This is a shot taken from the back of a very old car, a gangster car, where a shot was fired through the windshield and back window. As soon as I walked in front of the car I wanted to take that shot! Maybe having less depth of field could have worked too… I prefered this shot because what is in the fore ground (the bullet hole) is more sugested than visible as it is so blurry… it also helps focusing on the windscreen shot impact.
I had to crop the photo because by focusing on the windscreen from where I was, you could see the reflection of the nearby tree, completely in focus as well! but there was no way not to get them in the shot and keep that required angle… As I cropped the photo I actually preferred the way it is now… it has enough information for the viewer to understand it is a car, an old car, it is intriguing because there is a blurred plane in the background and the most important part of the photo is is circled by that blurry ring. Another thing which may not be obvious straigth away is that I tried to keep the same amount of black at the top and bottom of the frame, because combined with the black line in the middle of the windscreen I wanted to create an impression of filmstrip, to reinforce the “movie” atmosphere.

This is the front of a Concorde Plane which is in the Brookland Museum. It almost looks like a missile going for that building in front. I liked how all the colours seems to blend well together on that shot.

July 2009 – Chamonix, France
After quite a long walk which was harder than I thought, the reward was this magificient view!
When I took the photo I actually did not notice the plane :)
This 3 photos stiched together with the “hugin” software
I kept the bottom right cliff within the frame as I think it helps the viewer to visualise being there

June 2008 – London, UK
As my plane took off India I took this photo from my window. It is maybe a bit ironic that the last photo I blog about india is the first I took :)
I noticed those scratches on the window (in fact this more frost than anything else) and I played with the depth of field to make it not as obvious to understand what this is photo is of.

December 2007 – Barbados
Although this photo looks like nothing special and if anything a bit odd… I quite like it!
The reason is that it was an experiment… I had a pedestral for my camera and was practising photographying the stars with very long exposure when a plane went through the sky… it gave me an idea, and later on that evening I framed my photo in such a way, next time a plane goes by I would be able to capture it. I decided not to keep the plane going all the way through the frame because… well… dont really know… because I think it makes it looks like it more as if the plane was moving!

December 2007, London en route to Barbados
On that flight I was located right at the beginning of the plane and I could therefore have a perfect view of the engine… I took this photo as I just left London, I had a perfect view of the right engine!
