February 2012 – UK, Surrey
I saw that cute old couple as I was walking and took a quick shot when once they went past, I didn’t get the courage to ask them for a photo but at the same time, not asking for one means they are not posing either, this is the most natural it can get. I like this shot a lot because for me it tells a story, the story of life which is reinforced by that curved line on the floor. I found that most of the time, taking shots quickly of moments you like endup exactly with what you had in mind… No need to ask then!

This is an impressive piece of art at the Mercedes Bentz World in Surrey. A whole F1 car has been put to pieces and hung. I will go back, that’s for sure as I think there are a lot of opportunities to take interesting shots. I would pay a lot just to be able to be in a black room and only some lights on that F1.

I liked that half wing which had been sectioned, but not matter how I was taking it, the shots were a bit dulll or you could not really get the sense it was something that had been cut. In the end I decided to take half of everything, half of the wing, half of the wheel, half of the round but at the top and it wors for me :)

I think it was the fuel reservoir of the bus, I really liked the shape of it. I tried to take it from above as the arch around it make it interesting in this angle.

February 2012 – UK, Surrey
This was on the front of an old London bus, Everything about it says it is old, the colour scheme, the shape, the logo, the font… Actually, this photo is a bit of a “trick”. What appears to be the main subject is slightly blurry: The London Transport logo, in fact, it is some kind of self-portrait as I instead focus on the bottom screw which is reflecting me taking the photo. It is subtle, and only if you look at the photo in big can you really see it. I like the idea of a hidden message, it is not steganography, but if you were to analyse that photo and answer the question: What was the main subject of the photo… it would be “The photographer!”, I even give you clues, everything is pointing towards it :)

This is another classic emblem from the Brookland Museum, I really like that old crane on the left and I tried to capture as much of the whiteboard as possible, but the main part is the name of the museum.

This was quite random, why having an indian in front of a London bus! :)

That made me smile, in case you were wondering what that flashing light in front of you meant, they even put a sign showing the direction!

There was a green bus next to this red one, and you could see a sign “Green Line”, I spent about 10 minutes trying to line up that white line with the logo, but in the end it didn’t work out as I wanted so I cropped it to the white line only. I spent so much time that I even got paint on my hand, I must have missed a sign telling me there was fresh paint :)

January 2012 – UK, Esher
I went to visit the Claremont Park near Esher not really knowing what was there, but as I get in the park some people were giving bread to a couple of black swan. I took a few shots of them as they were quite striking out the other white swan around. I chose that moment because of the reflection in the water. It reminded me a child story of the Ugly little Duck, a duck who thinks it is ugly when young because he looks different from the other ducks… but in fact really is a beautiful swan, something he only learns later in life/the story. Somehow that “ugly” reflection reminded me of the story :)

As I was taking this photo I overheard a couple who was sitting on a bench not too far away… the guy was saying to his partner “see, I told you there was a photo to be made there!” :)

That river really had a ghost feel with all the fog, everything was softer but also much less defined!
