August 2011 – UK, Weybridge
I visited the Brookland Museum in Weybidge a couple of times and noticed they sometimes move the concorde… in this position and walking under it I saw a good summary of what brookland was about… cars and plane. On top of that there is that memorial wall which gives the legend to this photo :)

Leaving the museum after it had rain quite a bit I saw the reflection on that wooden wall, the light reflection and the lines gives a good sense of perspective. Overall I liked the color and the fact the lines are not drawn to a corner but to the 1/3 right part of the photo, there is also a line created by the light on the top right corner which finishes as well to a 1.3 of the photo, this time in the center. So from an apparently very blend photo I thought a lot about it :)

That photo is for the geek in me or in fact for any geeks! I used to have and love a Spectrum 48K, that was made by Sinclair… and Sir Sinclair also famously tried to create a new mini car in the 80s called the C5. It didn’t work!
Only 12K were sold and the museum I visited had 3 of them… that was the first time I saw one of those and dare I say… touch one of those! :)
I took a few shots but wanted to find a way to make it more original than just a shot of a mini car… then I noticed that logo and the material of the car very much look like those of a computer. So I thought that shot, of the logo and a hint of a wheel at the bottom right corner was a good homage of both the computer and car. I was not sure about keeping the yellow bit at the bottom, but decided to keep it, let’s call it a pixel! :)

That plane was apparently recovered from the bottom of the Loch Ness, I thought it was going well against the rusty and old ceiling. Again, there are lot of lines to play with on that photo!

This is the back of a Concorde Plane which is in the Brookland Museum. Although stationary the fact its back wheel is coming out it almost could be a photo of a flying plane. That’s the power of sugestion :)

Lines, lines, lines… I see lines everywhere :) Not only did I like the colour contrast between the left and right part of the photo, but the overall tone of the photo is harmonious. What interested me the most though was also the fact there is a contrast between the straigth lines of the floor and the curved lines of the car.

This was an old plane from the Sultan of Oman, I think it was a VC-10, you could visit the plane and see how luxurious a few people got to fly! It was possible to visit the cockpit and even sit in the pilot seat. There was a lot of people around and it was not possible to stay long, as I was leaving I realised I forgot to take a shot of the dashboard from up close… but taking what shot! none of the dials were especially impressive or nice… then I noticed that gap! :)

As I was with a group of people visiting that Plane and Car museum I was concious they kept waiting for me as I was taking many shots of, well, everything! I couldn’t not see that door though :) the only problem is that it was surrounded by trucks, ladders, and people walking by. I eventually managed to get the shot I wanted. I liked the contrast in the colour, the texture and the perspective.

Everyone love chocolate, and that children especially :)
She had just finished her 3 chocolate extra moist super good muffin… I just like her facial expression and the small crumbles on the left which act as a suttle reminder that she just finished her cake… that and all the chocolate on her mouth!

I just loved the ceiling of that hangar, the colours are at the same time warm and cold.
I tried to put the arc created by that line with the 3 lights to go through the first bottom 1/3 point of the photo (not sure I make sense here). There are also 3 white bands so I guess the number 3 is quite important in that photo :)
… and I am publishing this photo on the 9th of March… 3×3 on the 3rd month… 2011 doesn’t really work unless you only take the first 3 binary numbers and get the number 3… maybe I better stop looking for 3′s ! ;)

As I was walking away from that plane the corner of my eye saw that refelction. I waited for everyone to leave and stop walking on the water puddle. I couldn’t find the right angle anymore though but thankfully my friend saw me taking photos of the ground and said “the angle you want is here”, thanks :)

This is a shot taken from the back of a very old car, a gangster car, where a shot was fired through the windshield and back window. As soon as I walked in front of the car I wanted to take that shot! Maybe having less depth of field could have worked too… I prefered this shot because what is in the fore ground (the bullet hole) is more sugested than visible as it is so blurry… it also helps focusing on the windscreen shot impact.
I had to crop the photo because by focusing on the windscreen from where I was, you could see the reflection of the nearby tree, completely in focus as well! but there was no way not to get them in the shot and keep that required angle… As I cropped the photo I actually preferred the way it is now… it has enough information for the viewer to understand it is a car, an old car, it is intriguing because there is a blurred plane in the background and the most important part of the photo is is circled by that blurry ring. Another thing which may not be obvious straigth away is that I tried to keep the same amount of black at the top and bottom of the frame, because combined with the black line in the middle of the windscreen I wanted to create an impression of filmstrip, to reinforce the “movie” atmosphere.
